Golden Comedy Review

Editorial policy

Golden Comedy Review aims to be accurate about the work it discusses and clear about the difference between fact, interpretation and opinion. Comedy invites strong reactions; our descriptions should still be fair, precise and open to correction.

Accuracy and interpretation

We check factual details against suitable material available to us and take care with titles, attribution and context. Interpretive readings are presented as readings, not settled facts. We avoid repeating claims about a writer or work when their relevance or basis is unclear.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from partnership arrangements. Any paid, supplied or otherwise partner-connected material is clearly labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee a favourable mention or editorial treatment.

Corrections and illustrations

Readers can flag an error through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend material when a factual error is established, making the change clear where appropriate. Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence; such images are not documentary evidence and are identified when used.

Our point of view

A joke is made of choices.

We look at what words, structure and voice do on the page, so a laugh can be enjoyed and understood at once.
