Write for us
We welcome thoughtful proposals about comedy as writing: a close reading, a clear comparison, a piece of literary or cultural context, or an original essay about how a written form works. A strong contribution gives readers something specific to notice without pretending humour has one universal measure.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central idea, the particular work or form you want to discuss, and what your approach would help readers see. Explain why the subject suits Golden Comedy Review, note any important sources or context, and give a sense of the proposed length and shape.
A considered approach
We value clear prose, close attention to the writing and a respectful account of context. Proposals should distinguish evidence from personal response, avoid unsupported claims about real people, and make room for readers who may interpret a joke differently.
Where to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page using the editorial question option. Include a short outline and a sample of relevant writing if useful; please do not send a finished, lengthy manuscript unless it has been requested.
A joke is made of choices.
We look at what words, structure and voice do on the page, so a laugh can be enjoyed and understood at once.
